Sarah Palin's Ignorance

REAL RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS POSED TO SARAH PALIN WHEN SHE RAN FOR GOVERNOR TWO YEARS AGO

In 2006, the Eagle Forum in Alaska posed several questions to prospective Alaskan gubernatorial candidates. Sarah Palin's responses  appeared on the organizations' website until she was chosen as McCain's running mate. Since that fateful day, the questionaire and Sarah's responses have been removed from the web page presumably because her responses indicated that she was ignorant.

Luckily, Google preserved a snapshoot fo the site before her supporters removed it.

Here is just one of the questions asked and Palin's idiotic response!

Question 11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

Sarah Palin Responded : Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

Well Sarah, your answer illustrates your  ignorance of American History.

First, the Pledge of Allegiance did not exist prior to the the 20th century (the 1900s that is). In case you forgot, the founding father dudes were those dudes that signed the Declaration of Independance in 1776, led the American Revolution, and then penned the Constitution of the United States!

In case math is as confusing to you as basic American history, the Pledge of Allegiance was not written until more than 100 years after the ratification of the US Constitution.  Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Hamilton and other founding dudes were DEAD by then.

So, to summarize, the Pledge of Allegiance could not have been good enough for the founding fathers BECAUSE THEY WERE DEAD BEFORE IT WAS CREATED.

Here is that topper Sarah, the "One Nation Under God" part of the Pledge was not part of the original Pledge of Allegiance. The phrase was added by the Republican- controlled Congress in the 1950's at the height of the "Red Scare." So the founding fathers WERE REALLY REALLY DEAD BEFORE this language was added.

Do we have a new contestant for "Are you Smarter than Your Fifth Grader?"

STUMPED SARAH ponders the question of whether Alaska was one of the original 13 states of the United States.

McCain is so rich he can't remember how many houses he has.
